The latest exhibition by Nick Knight, Fashion Flora, at SHOWstudio is an explorative look at the use of flowers in fashion as motifs through the decades. Seen through the eyes of 40 of the worlds contemporary fashion illustrators and dating back to the 1880s.
Curated by Flora Starkey, the exhibition features pieces by Alexandra McQueen, Dries Van Noten and John Galliano and many others. Known for his love of flowers, in particular roses, Nick Knight shows this in in his hand-applied pigment print Rose IX (2012).
The exhibition also has films from SHOWstudios 17-year archive, adding to the experience of the long history of flowers in fashion. Also displayed are real British flowers and plants that are arranged by Starkey, one of the most original and exciting floral designers at work today
