Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2018 Highlights

Alberta Ferretti

Shiny silk lamé, Grecian dresses and jumpsuits graced the runway along with black swimsuits and bikinis which were cut-out in the back or had strings wrapped around the waist. The pastel trend was embraced with a collection of lamé blouses that were tied at the waist and paired with sharp trousers.

No 21

Opening the show, the collection encompassed lingerie-inspired silhouettes which were ultra-feminine, in shades of pink and nude, with feathers and touches of sparkle. There were also leather parkas layered on top and hoodies trimmed with crystals. As well as transparent black silk, burgundy leather and leopard print layered with translucent silk for the finale.

Gucci

The Gucci show had a retro theme, with glitter and sparkle, heritage tweed and 80s shoulders. A leather suit appliquéed with musical notes and a purple sequin suit with lime green snakes, had a 70s glam rock influences.

Prada

Spider motifs and distorted zebra and leopard prints were scattered throughout the collection. A jewelled panel studded coat was the standout piece. Of note accessories were studded brogues and pointed kitten heel slingbacks worn with printed knee-high socks.

Max Mara

Maxi skirts slashed into strips of fabric and worn with neat knitwear were followed by sharp jumpsuits. Printed on leather or a sand coloured trench coat were woven heritage logo motifs. Also floral spray prints appeared across suits, coats and bags.

Fendi

Light dresses and bowling skirts were worn with skinny knits, there was also a ribbon draped blouse and an off-the-shoulder denim dress. The green coat with flowers inlaid into the leather was a really great piece.

Sportmax

Cotton T-shirts were worn with full skirts gathered by sporty straps. Dresses and parkas had plant motif on them. The highlight was a white trench coat with oversized angled pockets. There was also a yellow jumpsuit and a bold green mac with strap fastenings.

Moschino

The collection encompassed incredible floral pieces as well ballet inspired outfits. Particularly the biker inspired ballerina. Model of the moment Kaia Gerber came out in a pale blue tutu, biker jacket, hat and boots.
