Pat McGrath has been one of the world’s leading influential makeup artists for 25 years now. Many of our favourite makeup trends have been driven by her. Since launching her own makeup brand, Pat McGrath Labs, four years ago, it has become a billion dollar business with over 100 products.
Affectionately known in the industry as “Mother”, she has now launched a store in Selfridges, London. The “Mothership” takeover will have the makeup collection in it’s entirety available in one place throughout the whole of Europe.
There are 24 window displays, limited edition designer curations from Commes des Garçons, Prada, Versace and more. The Pat McGrath Mothership will be at Selfridges, London until the 1st June 2019.
Pat McGrath was also one of the directors of the promotional film for the Mothership takeover at Selfridges, called A Technicolour Odyssey.
The fashion retailer Smythe was launched in 2004 with blazers and jackets. Co-designers Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe’s wardrobe essential designs are given a unique sense of occasion. They have now gained a cult-status following with their full ready-to-wear collection continuing to be relevant, versatile and timeless.
I have now added Smythe to the list of retailers in the Shop section of the site. They can also be found in Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, London. Hope you enjoy shopping with them as much as I have.
Sarah Burton is the creative force firmly at the helm of the Alexander McQueen brand. Now the new flagship store has opened in central London. Starting as an intern in the early days, she succeeded to Creative Director of the brand after McQueen’s death. Continuing to push the magnificently brilliant creative identity created by him.
The evolution of the brand has been meteoric. From a small Hoxton studio in the early days to recently opening an amazing new flagship store on Bond Street in February. The store is three-storeys high and was designed by architect Smiljan Radic, reflecting the uniqueness of the McQueen brand. On the top floor of the store is a gallery space and it houses archive pieces of the collections. Also a number of different events from talks to exhibitions are run for young creatives, to connect and celebrate the absolute genius of a man who was Alexander McQueen.
